What changed
On December 5, 2025, the CPSC announced INIU’s recall of about 210,000 INIU 10,000mAh portable power banks, model BI-B41 (recall 26-135). Only units with four serial-number codes are included: 000G21, 000H21, 000I21 and 000L21. The recalled banks have a black or blue case, the INIU logo, and a paw-print LED light on the front.
“The lithium-ion battery in the recalled power banks can overheat and ignite, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers.”
That is the CPSC’s hazard statement. INIU received 15 reports of overheating, including 11 fires, three minor burn injuries and more than $380,000 in property damage. The banks were sold on Amazon.com from August 2021 to April 2022 for about $18. The remedy is a refund.
Who it affects
Owners of an INIU BI-B41 with one of the four serial codes. Other INIU models, and BI-B41 units with other serial codes, are not in this recall.
INIU is a brand Mini owners know: owners have posted runtime reports for a larger INIU 100 W power bank running a Mini, and one of those reports is in our data files. That larger bank is a different model and is not part of this recall. The recalled BI-B41 is a 10,000mAh phone bank. It is far below the USB PD output Starlink requires for the Mini, so it couldn’t have been running anyone’s dish.
What it means for your power setup
Nothing about Mini runtime changes. If you’re choosing a bank to run the Mini, the requirements are the same as before; our USB-C power bank guide and the best battery for a Mini cover them. Brand alone doesn’t tell you whether a bank is recalled: model and serial do.
Four years after sale, a lot of these banks are in drawers, glove boxes and camp bags. Old, cheap lithium packs that have been through many hot and cold cycles are exactly what to check.
What to do
- Find any INIU power bank with a paw-print light. Check the model (BI-B41) and the serial number.
- If the serial contains 000G21, 000H21, 000I21 or 000L21, stop using it, per the CPSC notice.
- Register for the refund on INIU’s recall page: iniushop.com/pages/recall-b41. INIU contacts: 888-886-3606 (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, Monday to Friday) or recall@iniu.shop.
- Don’t throw it in the trash or recycling. The CPSC advises asking your local household hazardous waste site whether it takes lithium batteries.
What stays the same
- Other INIU models, including the larger 100 W bank cited in owner reports: not named in this recall.
- Starlink’s 100 W USB PD requirement for the Mini: unchanged.
- Our bench protocol and its list: unchanged; no INIU product on it is affected.
What we don’t know yet
- Why only these four serial codes are affected. The notice doesn’t explain the cause.
- How many units have been refunded. The notice doesn’t say.
Values from our data files
These render from the site’s fact store, with where each came from and when we checked it.
- To power the Mini over USB-C, Starlink requires a USB PD source of at least 100 W (20 V / 5 A), using Starlink's USB-C to barrel jack cable. Official spec: From a Starlink specification sheet or help article. Checked Oct 5, 2026 (checked )
