What changed
On April 9, 2026, the CPSC announced Shenzhen Baihang Technology’s recall of about 8,000 VEEKTOMX VT103 Small Portable Charger Mini Power Banks (recall 26-399). They’re white, pink or purple, with “VT103” imprinted on the back. Only units that do not have a serial number in the bottom right corner of the back are included.
“The lithium-ion battery in the recalled power banks can overheat and ignite, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers.”
Shenzhen Baihang received three reports of fires causing minor property damage, according to the notice. No injuries were reported. The banks were sold on Amazon.com from January 2024 through September 2024 for $24 to $30. The remedy is a free replacement power bank.
Who it affects
Owners of a VEEKTOMX VT103 without a serial number on the back. VT103 units that do have a serial number in that corner are not in the recall.
A note on the name: “Mini” here is the power bank’s product name. It has nothing to do with the Starlink Mini, and a small phone power bank like this one can’t run the dish. Starlink requires a USB PD source of at least 100 W for the Mini.
What it means for your power setup
Nothing changes for the dish. If you searched for a “mini power bank” for your Starlink Mini and ended up with a pocket phone charger, that’s the mix-up to avoid: our USB-C power bank guide explains what a bank needs to run the Mini, and the best battery for a Mini covers bigger options.
Small banks like this are still part of most travel kits, charging phones next to the dish. Check them the way you’d check the big one.
What to do
- Look for “VT103” on the back of any small white, pink or purple VEEKTOMX bank.
- Check the bottom right corner of the back. No serial number means it’s in the recall.
- Stop using it and contact the company to confirm and get the replacement: recall@veektomx.com, or veektomx.com (“Important Recall Information”).
- Don’t put it in the trash, curbside recycling or a store battery-recycling box. The CPSC advises asking your local household hazardous waste site whether it takes recalled lithium-ion batteries.
What stays the same
- Starlink’s 100 W USB PD requirement for the Mini: unchanged.
- VT103 units with a serial number on the back: not in this recall.
- No product on our bench list is affected.
What we don’t know yet
- The bank’s capacity and output. The notice doesn’t state them.
- Why units with a serial number are excluded. The notice doesn’t say.
Values from our data files
These render from the site’s fact store, with where each came from and when we checked it.
- To power the Mini over USB-C, Starlink requires a USB PD source of at least 100 W (20 V / 5 A), using Starlink's USB-C to barrel jack cable. Official spec: From a Starlink specification sheet or help article. Checked Oct 5, 2026 (checked )
