What changed

Starlink’s US order data lists the Starlink Mini Kit at $149, or $12.41 a month for 12 months. The starlink.com Mini page headline reads “Starting at $149 for the Mini Kit.” We read both on October 5, 2026. Press reports date the change to October 2, 2026. Starlink gives no end date.

We don’t state the price just before the change. Reports disagree, and none of them is a Starlink page we could read, so our data file marks the prior price as unverified. The Mini launched in June 2024 at a higher price for early customers (press report, labeled as such on our Mini price page).

Who it affects

Anyone pricing a Mini to run from a battery, a car or solar. The service plan is separate and isn’t covered here; plan prices belong on our sister cost site.

What it means for your power setup

The kit price changed; the power math didn’t. Starlink’s power figures for the Mini are the same as before, so every runtime on the calculator and every battery size on the best battery for a Mini is unchanged.

What does change is the share of your total spend that goes on power. At a lower kit price, a large power station can cost several times the dish. That’s a reason to size the battery to your real use (hours per day, days between charges) rather than buying the biggest station you can find. The calculator gives you the smallest setup that works for your hours and state.

What to do

  1. Check the current price on starlink.com before you order; it’s the source of truth, and it can change without notice.
  2. Size your battery or solar with the calculator before you buy any power gear.
  3. If you buy and the power side doesn’t work out, Starlink’s terms give a 30-day hardware return window. Don’t buy to return, but know it’s there.

What stays the same

  • The Mini’s power requirements and the kit contents: unchanged.
  • Our runtime and solar math: unchanged.

What we don’t know yet

  • How long this price will last. Starlink gives no end date, and we don’t guess.
  • The exact price immediately before October 2, 2026. Sources disagree; it stays unverified until a Starlink page or archive settles it.
