Mini basics

What's in the Starlink Mini box, and the power gear that isn't

The kit is built for one thing: plugging into a wall outlet up to 15 m away. Every other way of powering it (USB-C, a car, a battery) needs at least one more part.

Readouts: the Mini kit lists at $149 in the US; in the box are a 15 m DC cable and an AC power supply; the USB-C cable, car adapter and batteries are sold separately.

Key takeaways

  • In the box: The Mini kit includes the Mini with integrated WiFi, kickstand, pipe adapter and flat mount, 15 m DC power cable, power supply, and Starlink Plug.
  • That covers wall power only: the 15 m (49.2 ft) DC cable runs from the AC power supply to the Mini.
  • Not in the box: Starlink's 5 m USB-C cable (needed for USB-C power banks and chargers), the Mini Car Adapter (select markets), a longer 30 m DC cable, the Ethernet cable and any battery.
  • Starlink's US order data lists the Mini Kit at $149 Official spec: From a Starlink specification sheet or help article. Checked Oct 5, 2026 on Roam, or $12.41/month for 12 months.
  • Starlink gives a full hardware refund within its 30 days return window; after that, no refund on kits or accessories.

The Starlink Mini kit contains the Mini (with WiFi built in), a kickstand, a pipe adapter and flat mount, a 15 m DC power cable, an AC power supply and a Starlink Plug for the Ethernet port. That’s everything for running it from a wall outlet. It does not include Starlink’s USB-C cable (needed for power banks and USB-C chargers), the Mini Car Adapter, an Ethernet cable, or any battery. What the kit is built for: a wall outlet

The supplied path is AC outlet → power supply → 15 m DC cable → Mini. It works from any household outlet or from a power station’s AC outlet. That’s fine at a cabin or campsite with power, but on a battery you’d be paying an inverter loss for no reason: our runtime walkthrough shows the AC path costs a little runtime, and more on stations whose inverter draws power just by being on.

The power gear that isn’t in the box

Starlink’s Mini accessories guide lists: Starlink's Mini accessories guide lists: Mini Wall Mount, Mini Pivot Mount, Mini Mobility Mount, Mini Roof Rack Mount, Mini Pipe Adapter and Flat Mount, Router Mini, Mini Car Adapter, Mini Travel Kit, Gen 3 Router and Router Mount, Mini DC Power Cable (15 m and 30 m), Mini Starlink Cable (15 m), and Mini USB-C Cable (5 m). The ones that matter for power:

  • Mini USB-C Cable. USB-C power requires Starlink's own USB-C to Barrel Jack cable accessory (Mini USB-C Cable), sold in the Starlink Shop. The Starlink Mini USB-C Cable is 5 m (16.4 ft) long and replaces the kit's 15 m power cable. You need it for any USB-C PD power bank, charger or power-station USB-C port. The source must deliver 100 W Official spec: From a Starlink specification sheet or help article. Checked Oct 5, 2026 at 20 V / 5 A; see what “PD 100W” promises.
  • Mini Car Adapter. The Starlink Mini Car Adapter plugs into a standard 12-24 V car accessory (cigarette lighter) outlet and powers the Mini via USB-C. The Mini Car Adapter kit contains the car adapter and a Mini USB-C cable. Starlink says the Mini Car Adapter is only available in select markets. Details in car sockets and the Mini.
  • Mini DC Power Cable, 30 m. Starlink sells a 30 m (98.4 ft) Mini DC Power Cable for longer runs. Useful when the outlet is far from open sky. On 12 V, a longer cable means more voltage drop; see 12 V amps and wiring.
  • A battery. None is sold in the kit. Starlink’s aviation section says In its aviation section Starlink says the Mini can be powered by a battery that meets its power requirements, and runs on 110 VAC or 12-48 VDC, 60 W. Our battery guide sizes one by hours.

What about Power over Ethernet? Power over Ethernet is not supported on Starlink Mini.

Other things people expect and won’t find

  • An Ethernet cable. Starlink Mini has one latching Ethernet LAN port with a Starlink Plug; the matching Mini Starlink Cable is sold separately.
  • A separate router. The Mini has an integrated WiFi router, so a separate router is not required. Starlink Mini is compatible with all Starlink mesh systems (not third-party mesh, per the Mini X sheet).
  • A case. The Mini Travel Kit is separate: The Mini Travel Kit includes a bumper case, a sleeve that doubles as a carrying case, and an accessory pouch for the power components.
  • A cover. Starlink advises against them while running: Starlink strongly recommends against adding protective covers, which degrade performance and snow melting.

Price and returns

Starlink's US order data lists the Mini Kit at $149 on Roam (or $12.41/mo for 12 months), and the mini-product-us page says 'Starting at $149'. On returns: Starlink gives a full hardware refund if you cancel within the 30-day return period; kits returned after 30 days get no refund. Outside the 30-day window, Starlink gives no refund on any mounts, accessories, or kits. If you’re unsure whether the Mini fits your power setup, test the whole chain (battery, cable, mount) inside that window.
